About My Approach

Hi, I’m so glad you’re here! As a therapist, I use a blend of relational and behavioral approaches. This means that I tend to be action- and change-oriented, with the understanding that our actions and choices never occur in a vacuum and are deeply influenced by our relationships, environments, and personal histories. In my work, I prioritize the therapeutic relationship and aim to maintain feelings of trust and safety, with the knowledge that it is the foundation from which we tackle the challenges of processing difficult emotions, identifying patterns, and initiating lasting change. You can expect that I will show up in sessions authentically, consistently, and compassionately, so that you are empowered to show up exactly as who you are. Personality-wise, I am a pretty direct person and love what I do, so you’ll probably learn quite quickly that I am very enthusiastic, silly, sarcastic, and am not one to sugarcoat or beat around the bush!

My social work background is incredibly important to me, and this shows up in my therapeutic work as a commitment to meeting clients where they’re at, collaborating with families and community partners (e.g. educational system, foster care system etc), and centering liberatory practices. My experience has ranged across many different settings and acuity levels, including school-based services, community-based wraparound services, and inpatient mental health, which allows me to support clients in navigating complex systems and accessing needed resources to address the systemic issues impacting their life. I wish it would go without saying but to be extra clear, I am a LGBTQ-affirming and neurodivergent-affirming practitioner and Treehouse Counseling as a whole is firmly committed to being a safe, inclusive, and liberating place for clients of all identities!

I have found that I tend to work best with elementary school- and high school-aged youth navigating experiences of trauma and related concerns, especially when there are higher levels of family engagement. For adults, I particularly enjoy working within my specialties of OCD and supporting second-generation immigrants navigating intergenerational/complex trauma.

If you think we might be a good fit, I would love to hear from you! Please reach out to schedule an initial consultation using this form.
